Just over a year ago, the Bulgarian afro-beat outfit DJ Marcon & The Palo Santos released the brass-heavy and percussive jazz-funk jam A Journey South on their Still Here EP on Timewarp Music. Now, in 2023, that very track has come in for some serious remix treatment courtesy of Aris Kokou, Umbo and label bossman Timewarp Inc.
Leading the way is Timewarp Inc with an intense and groove-driven afro disco remix that packs a punch from the get-go to the very end. Aris Kokou‘s afro house remix still kicks, but its smoother vibe makes it a must for any sun-kissed terrace session. Umbo completes the classy collection of remixes with a much funkier take on the original and much like the other two, its intoxicating nature gives it plenty of dancefloor appeal. Also included in this release is the original track and if you didn’t catch it the first time around, now’s a great to get your hands on it.
