Alex Ranzino Ride Da Perc EP

Amsterdam’s very own Alex Ranzino is making a splash on the Techno scene with his latest EP, ‘Ride Da Perc,’ released under the Utrecht-based Phoq U Phonogrammen, a vibrant offshoot of U-TRAX. After gaining attention with his work on underground labels like Revenge Techniques and Clone, Ranzino’s new venture comes hot on the heels of Phoq U’s collaboration with Detroit’s Rebecca Goldberg, further cementing the label’s knack for spotting and nurturing exceptional talent.

The EP kicks off with its namesake track, ‘Ride Da Perc,’ where Ranzino expertly blends punchy 909 drum machines with the ethereal sway of spacious strings, setting a high bar right from the start. The Advent takes the energy levels into the stratosphere with a remix that maintains the original’s extraterrestrial vibe while weaving in a darkly hypnotic groove and deep, throbbing synths. But the journey doesn’t stop there. ‘Acid Groove’ flips the script on the B-side, serving up a relentless 303-fueled rhythm that reiterates why we should always pay attention to the flip side. ‘Alienated’ keeps the energy high as the quintessential warehouse party anthem, and ‘Machine Geweld’ wraps up the EP with a late-night, cerebral excursion that’s become a staple in Ranzino’s dazzling sets across Dutch nightlife havens like BRET, WAS, Intercell, and De School.

Make a note in your diary for ‘Ride Da Perc’ EP’s vinyl release on 29th March 2024, with digital versions ready to invade your playlists on 12th April 2024. Alex Ranzino is not just riding the perc; he’s steering it into uncharted territories.
