Back in August, The Allergies released their Latin-bomb Vamonos on Jalapeno Records and now joining that track on 7″ vinyl comes the follow-up single Hypnotize. Sampling Afrobeat legend Dele Sosimi, the duo step away from their signature funky breaks sound and hit us with an infectious 4/4-led groove filled with Afrobeat horns, percussion and an energy-building vocal. Although a different direction for The Allergies, we are loving it!
Whilst the spotlight is on The Allergies, I really should point out that they’re heading to my neck of the woods on the 4th of November to play a rearranged gig in Peterborough at Charters Bar. They’ll be playing alongside the awesome Madame Electrifie as well as Pat Unwin, Mark Goodliff and event organisers, promoters and DJs Eclectic Ballroom.
