It’s not that often that we get to share new music from Skeewiff these days, so when something does drop from them, it’s only right we let you know about it. Returning to their spiritual home, Jalapeno Records, Alex and Elliot deliver not one, but two new tracks that express their love and admiration for the creative flair of library music legends such as Keith Mansfield, Brian Bennett, Herb Alpert and Alan Hawkshaw.
Well-respected and much-loved beatsmiths themselves, Skeewiff have re-visited the music of two of the legends mentioned above and have adorned each of the reworks with their signature funk stylings. First up is a cool, calm and sophisticated take on Keith Mansfield’s horn-heavy Exclusive Blend and accompanying it is an equally horn-filled spin on Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass’ playful and familiar Spanish Flea. Each track serves up an ‘all you can eat’ amount of fun and good times, so don’t be shy in going back for as many helpings as you like.
Word on the street is that the two new tracks are the first in a series of revamps of some of their favourite library tracks, so if you’re not already following Skeewiff on their socials, now would be a great time to do so!
