Rory Hoy’s causing all kinds of mayhem with his new big beat EP It’s That Time on Wildfire Recordings! Kicking off the extremely-lively 4-tracker is the title track of the EP and once you catch wind of the thumping kick, sizzling horns and heavy drums, you’ll know ‘it’s that time’! Warmed up nicely by the opener, the second track Feel It! is the wild one of the bunch! Even fiercer drums and grungy guitars cause the fury while euphoric piano interludes bring short moments of respite from all of the chaos kicking off around you.
The third track, Cuttin’ and Scratchin’, does exactly as it says on the tin. Tons of crisp cuts and scratches, tons of funk and brass and tons of groove. A heavyweight jam for the movers and shakers. Closing the EP is Mind Your Language!. Playful vocal samples are strewn over chunky drums and vintage swing-influenced horns and piano which all make for a rousing finale. Anyone of these will please a crowd, so snap them up and keep them dancing!
