Although the title may make this track seem like it’s shrouded in secrecy, the unknown artist behind this track is the Dutch producer, DJ and label owner Sem Jacobs. On the rise to great things, Sem’s solo career only began in 2022, but his infectious house productions have seen him gain support from plenty of high-rollers from the scene and it’s seen him head out to play in Colombia and pop over here to play at the mighty Printworks in London also. Not standing still, Sem has also launched his FUNKiMAN label and has an ongoing mix/guest mix series that is currently 112 episodes strong and from what I can see, they’re all free to download! If house is your thing, those mixes are well worth a visit.
We catch up with Sem on the release of his re-edit of Adeva’s 1989 classic – Respect -. Known for his heavy-hitting original music, this rare re-edit caught our attention because it has enough of the late 80s essence for the old skool to latch onto and enough of a highly polished finish and bigger dancefloor presence for the nu-skool to latch onto. Pop this catchy house groove in your set and unite them all.
