A few years back, Tristan Longworth aka The Third Degree came up with the genius idea to remould two chart-topping pop hits – Duffy’s ‘Mercy’ and Kylie’s ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’ – into two northern soul-style stompers. Immediately loved by anyone who heard them, Newcastle’s legendary funk soul brother Smoove found himself particularly hung up on both tracks. So much so that he found himself not so much begging for mercy, but instead begging for the stems so he could remix them for his DJ sets. Only too happy to help, Tristan sent the stems over and the resulting remixes we have here are what came about. More uptempo in nature, lots more fire and even more funk, Smoove has made sure that his cracking remixes will be played time and time again by fellow DJs for many, many more gigs to come.
Both tracks are available digitally and on 7″ vinyl on Jalapeno Records.
