It’s day 10 and Diesel Recordings are taking over. After smashing last year’s Advent chart, it would be rude not to include them in our Days of Christmas project. Growing and growing in notoriety since 2020, this breakbeat label shows no bounds! This trio of musical delights shows just what they are all about. Let me introduce:
Pete Wilde:
Originally from the UK, Pete planted himself in The Canadian scene at a young age, organising and DJing events leading to a few of Calgary’s long running residencies. He made the natural move to production in early 2000s with more than 20 years experience behind him. Most recently he co-founded a new label, Wildfire Recordings, as a sister label to UK Breakbeat powerhouse Diesel Records.
Metachemical:
Metachemical loves broken beats, fixed ones, and everything in between. Focusing primarily on breaks, with occasional forays into drum and bass, electro house, house and tech genres. Producing since 2000 with over 30 releases to his name. Demonology is a tasty slice of heavy tech breaks, spiced up with deep bassline, powerful drums, and interesting vocal cuts.
Prato:
American Prato is a producer/DJ currently living in Tampa. Making breaks, house, and everything in between, he is also host to the the weekly NSB Radio show, Frosted Breaks. Bounce For Me puts you in a proper party mood with its funky vocal cuts and intense energy.
