Inari EP – V/A (Diesel Recordings’ 300th Release)

The dedicated and hard-working team at Diesel Recordings are over the moon and proud as punch to present us with their 300th release Inari. The EP-style release features five brand-new and boisterous breakbeat tunes from a handful of headline acts from its well-stacked roster, with those being Kwerk, Perpetual Present, Sketi, Swim Inc & Kenny Beeper and United States Beat Squad.

Diesel Recordings has flourished as a label since its inception in 2018, and the five tracks on its new EP are a great reflection of the quality breakbeat you can expect to find anywhere in its vast back catalogue. The opening barrage of beats and basslines on Inari comes from Kwerk and his peak-time blaster The Feeling’s Right. Ravey leads, reese lines and a vibey female all help add to the overall feel of a track that really wants to make you lose it on the dancefloor. Perpetual Present steps up next and he keeps the intensity fizzing through the airwaves with his tech-funk-style slammer Water. Its unrelenting drive will fuel up the ravers and give them all the energy they need to make it through the night.

At the halfway point, Sketi rocks up the wildest track of the bunch Fire. There’s always one in the group that just can’t be tamed on a night out and Fire just happens to be that one. Speaker-ripping bass, tight and heavy drums, stabby keys and rave sirens make for a tearout slice of breaks you should approach with caution and then be grateful you’re friends with. Bringing a little funk to proceedings are Swim Inc and Kenny Beeper with Get Down feat. Snuze. Reminiscent of those chunky 110bpm ghetto funk bangers from back in the day, the trio team up and dial up their wonky, horny, and hip-hop-esque banger to 135bpm for maximum dancefloor pleasure. The grand finale of this epic breakbeat showdown comes in the form of the highly infectious Virus from the United States Beat Squad. This one’s another high-intensity tune that brings rave alarms, emergency broadcast vocals, imposing bass, heavy drums, atmospheric synths and a vibe that’ll keep you locked to the spot while raving harder than ever before.

Before we sign off, we’d just like to pass on our congratulations to the Diesel team for reaching such an epic milestone. Knowing them as I do, I can tell you that the hard work does not stop here and onto the next 300 they go. Follow on the relevant links below to be a part of what will be another eventful journey.
