All Good Funk Alliance have rolled out a number of excellent re-edits and reworks throughout 2021 and they’re ending the year with another absolute belter! The lowdown on their rework of Gang Starr‘s 1989 Hip Hop classic Manifest goes a little something like this:
We reworked this classic for your listening pleasure. Taking the original samples and following the guidelines that DJ Premier etched out in creating the original. The Charlie Parker and Miles Davis sample is the driving force with the James Brown guitar and a cool Latin groove that comes from his Live at the Apollo II album filling in the full sound. Re-working some elements in a new way with modern drums our own take on the track for a fresh spin on an amazing classic.
