Funk Butter Vol 2 – V/A (Cuttin’ It Fine)

Volume 2 of Cuttin’ It Fine’s easily playable Funk Butter series returns with four well-churned tracks that are ready to be spread thickly over a well-toasted dancefloor.

Label boss Roast Beatz heads things up with the club-ready Jungle Steppin. The hard-funkin’ bass guitar that greets us really sets the tone of the EP and awakens the senses immediately so that heavy licks of brass, classic samples and driving 4/4 groove can be taken on board and appreciated fully. Gramophone Soul follows with Day By Day and just when you think you’re getting one of his smooth and soulful funky breaks joints to kick back to, along comes an earth-shattering bassline that’ll be felt for miles around!

Hitting us with the funk from down under first off is Pecoe with his classy jam Good To Me. Big on brass, percussion, and funky guitars, Pecoe’s upbeat and infectious offering will only create a buzz of positivity wherever and whenever it’s spun. Our second blast of Aussie-fueled funk comes from Frankee More, who brings down the curtain on Funk Butter Vol 2 with his disco-infused heater For The Music. Packed with plenty of bump and groove, this one will keep the late-night revellers on the floor and wanting more.
