If my research is all in order, Berlin-based François K is an edit specialist under the guise of Captain Edits, a DJ of said edits and other top disco tunes under the alias of DJ Ahoy, and one-third of the Paradisco collective. If you happen to be in Berlin, especially on a weekend, keep an eye out for them all because if they’re playing, you’ll get to bust some move to excellent tunes like the Captain Edits re-edit of Lorraine Johnson’s disco-dream Feed The Flame featured. There’s plenty of glitz and glamour on show here and the modern-day groove and makeover is top-drawer business. Should you need to bring the heat at your next gig, make sure this is the one you reach for.
