Peterborough-based duo Zed Malik and Lee Ashton, aka Electric Phantoms, light the burners and deliver a raw as funk disco re-edit of Paul McCartney’s 1980 chart-topper Coming Up on Advent Day 30. This out-and-out party-rocket lands just in time for New Year’s celebrations and will undoubtedly encourage those wanting to shake their tail feathers, to shake them like they’ve never been shaken before!
When Lee and Zed are not concocting heady dancefloor treats like the one featured, Lee spends his days using the power of music to help provide creative experiences for children, young people and adults with additional needs at the not-for-profit organisation Beat This. Zed co-runs the popular Eclectic Ballroom night in Peterborough and over the years, they’ve brought legends such as Don Letts, A.Skillz, Krafty Kuts, The Allergies, Boca 45, Leeroy Thornhill and Crazy P amongst others to the city for some really memorable nights. The next one of those is not too far away either as it goes and this time they’re bringing BBC 6 Music’s Huey Morgan (ex-Fun Lovin’ Criminals) to the Charters Bar, Peterborough, on the 25th of February.
