Advent Day 25: Mr No Hands – Pumpy (Renewed) & Shake It (Mr No Hands Sub-Edit)

Armed with a nu-wave of electro-funk weapons ready for deployment, Mr No Hands returns for more funk-fuelled party mayhem! 2024 promises to be funky-jam packed with a series of forthcoming singles planned on your favourite labels including Toast & Jam. But the party’s getting started right here, right now with two slices of brandy-soaked buttery biscuit bass for your Christmas holiday delight.

Mr No Hands – Pumpy [Renewed]

The original “Rumpy Pumpy” released in twenty-something-something on the Diverted Traffic label, was an experiment to see just how LOW could that BUZZIN’ SAW BASSLINE go. Turns out, pretty low down dirty as the sound system at Fabric will tell you. Spin forward to today, Mr No Hands has re-“pumped” this ridiculous little number. He’s thrown the old drum kit out the window while injecting a wholelotta extra Funk-Fuelled Party Mayhem into the mixdown.

The result? Pumpy.

Chardronnet vs Afrilounge – Shake It (Mr No Hands Sub-Edit)

As if that wasn’t enough, it’s double or nothing with this sonic-boom-busting, minimal-breaks bruiser. You gonna boom, shake, shake, shake the room with Mr No Hands sub-laden reworking of the Poker Flat Recordings classic Chardronnet vs Afrilounge – Shake It.

Now slightly less “minimal”, this overhaul was sampled from the original vinyl release. You can hear the crackles and pops caused by years of heavy rotation because it’s one of his all-time favourite tunes that’s lived in his infamous Technics camo record box for over 15 years.
