Abyss – South Central EP

The mark of a good artist is their signature, You know a Banksy when you see it and you know an Abyss tune when you hear it!!!

The Switchblade Digital don returns to Kniteforce with a fearsome 4 tracker. Starting with ‘Dubplate Style’, the imperial death march of Jungle tunes. Ominous from the get go with a MC/Rapper vocal half time intro. The snares rip it up figuratively and literally on a crash course to the centrepiece of booming bass and mentasms.

‘Like Nothing We’ve Dealt With Before VIP’ recalls the peak of 95/96 Jungle/DnB plus the bonus of a classic Captain Kirk/Commander Spock interaction from Star Trek TOs episode ‘The Naked Time.’ A great follow up to the previous track with a similiar style of bass, hoover and amen breaks plus that cool noise from the NCC-1701.

‘Number One Fan’ samples the film ‘Misery’ and the darkness is off the scale on this one! The hair on your head wil stand up listening to the slick, heavy drum programming and the blood curdling hoover stabs!

‘Life’ shows a different side to Abyss’ production, incorporating R&B vocals and Reggea samples, sirens and cut up breaks just like the good old days. You can pick up the South Central EP on 12″ vinyl here https://kniteforcerevolution.com/store/product/south-central-ep-12-vinyl
