LifeSupportMachine.co.uk catch up with the man to see how fame and fortune has favoured him!

So, how has picking up the ‘Best New Producer’ trophy at Breakspoll affected your life?
It’s made my parents actually believe in me now. Ha. Other than that it’s started opening a lot of doors for me and giving me the opportunities I’ve been seeking for a while now. I’m getting more remix duties and bookings offered to me now by some great people so it’s really helped out with getting Mafia Kiss established.

What inspired the selection of tunes on this here Mobcast?
I’m a big Stanton Warriors fan so & I really like the way Dom compiles his mixes plus they make stunning tunes so got to pay respect really. I wouldn’t say that I’m into the generic sounding breakbeat really either, I love it when I hear a lazy booty kick driven by percussion in breaks tunes. On the flip side I like that big room stomp like what Marten Horger is delivering so well right now.

How do you describe what you do when meeting new people?
Depends what state I’m in. Sober I can be shy at first but can be a bit full on if I’m at a club on one.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A rock n roll superstar DJ

What are you obsessed with right now?
Purely making music, I love it so much that it’s all I go on about.

What’s been your worst job?
My first job and it was at Mcdonalds! I lasted two and half weeks before quitting! It wasn’t for me let’s just put it that way.

Pet hates, what can you not stand?
Eggs!! I’ve got a war against them because everyone insists that you have to like eggs. Let me just say, NO YOU DON’T, they smell like farts, they come out of a chickens arse and have embryos inside!?! It’s a running joke between my Hustle production partner John Ryan, I tell him the only egg I like is a Kinder Egg.

When and where were you happiest?
When I was young and had no responsibilities.

Have you been arrested? What for?
Not yet. I did a police line-up once when I was younger and couldn’t help think what if they pick me??

What’s the coolest thing you own?
My KRK Rokit 8’s! I fucking love those bad boys, they kick it so hard!!

And the geekiest thing?
I’ve got a lot of Beatles memorabilia that I think is cool but know some people would think otherwise.

What was the best piece of advice you ever had?
Do what feels right.

Who is your all time hero and why?
I look up to a lot of people and all for different reasons so I couldn’t possibly pick only one. In conjunction to making electronic music I would say I look up to Daft Punk a lot as they set standards when they were first doing their thing, for instance I believe they were the first guys to use side chaining in tracks other than using it to dip out bass from a kick they used it to make that pumping French House sound that quickly got used on everything at one point. I look at them as The Beatles of Dance music.

What’s your main vice?
Partying too hard…

What’s your answer to everything?
Whatever.

What’s your most prized position from when you were a kid?
My memories.

What do you spend your cash on?
Bills, music & studio equipment

What’s your favourite high, herbal or otherwise?
There’s nothing better than people going mad when you drop a belter of a tune and then of course there’s the obvious. ;)

Do you get any reoccurring dreams?
When I was younger I used to dream of a giant orange ball bouncing real high and me having to dodge where it was going to land to not get squashed. It used to freak me right out!

What would you change about yourself if you could?
My terrible eating habits.

What’s your biggest fashion disaster?
Those terrible T-Shirts that used to show all your sweat marks by changing a different colour, everyone went mad over them things when I was little and we all looked like complete knob heads.

If you had a Tardis, where would you go?
I’d enter paradise into its sat nav to see where it ended up taking me.

What is your most embarrassing claim to fame?
Meeting Ringo Star at a Who gig in the Royal Albert hall. I asked him to sign the gig ticket and he said “No, I’m on holiday”. He was the first famous person I had ever asked for an autograph and also the last.

Thank you Paul and we expect BIG things for you in the future!
