Since launching in 2010, a large chunk of the music we feature on LSM comes from one source. That source is Sonia who is head honcho Push Promotion. In fact, Sonia believes in LSM so much that she provided us with one of our first ever ‘Exclusives’.
Sonia is an amazing woman who has helped so many artists promote themselves and further their careers.
It came as hard-hitting news to the London music community to learn that Sonia had been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) and doctors say that – while she undertakes chemotherapy – a stem cell transplant is essential to her recovery.
Sonia’s life depends on people with mixed white, Chinese, black Caribbean and Indian connections to donate stem cells, as these are all part of Sonia’s heritage.
If you can help or no someone who fits that description, all that needs to be provided is a saliva sample. It really is as simple as that. If you are found to be a match, donating your stem cells is not much different from giving blood – and there’s no operation involved.
Join the Anthony Nolan Trust, who Sonia is working with and your stem cells could help save Sonia – or somebody else like her.
There has already been so much support and help from the London music community but we are still helping to get the word out there. This is why we are asking you all to extend this message to everyone you know to help save someones life. It won’t take much effort on your part either, just share this article on twitter or facebook and help spread the word. Full details are below.
